One of the games from the earliest group of Avalon Hill titles dating to the late 50's / early 60's. It was the company's first outing into the sports genre. Many of the early titles were re-issued a number of times but this game saw only one re-issue (in 1965) and was discontinued in 1971. The second issue had different car specs from the first.
The game parts are in EXCELLENT-NEAR MINT condition. The game is 100% complete with all parts accounted for. This is the very first edition and includes a period product catalog. The cloth tape that holds the 2 boards together is loose. Otherwise everything looks great. Overall I would grade the game parts 8-9 on a 10 scale (see condition guide below).
The game box
is in GOOD condition. It has suffered some spotting on
the inside of the lid and a faint stain on the front of the lid.
All 4 corners are split. I would grade it a 3-4 on
a
10
scale (see condition guide below).

minor writing and/or a few pieces of tape. No major
structural
damage and artwork will still be generally attractive. GOOD (3-4):
Obviously no care was taken with the game but it is still playable as
is. Game parts show
considerable use but the game is complete with all parts in
usable
condition. Box may have staining, writing, split
corners,
dishing and/or other structural damage but it will be intact and still
usable. POOR

Only suitable to fill a space in your collection.
