Football Game 1990 Edition
A fairly complex football
game that probably
deserved a better fate. Each coach assigns his players to positions
based on their skill sets and the type of game plan he will be running
(or the one he guess he'll be defending against). So not only do you
have to try to guess what play your opponent will be running based on
basic strategy and his play-calling tendencies, you also have to
account for which players he has assigned to which positions. This adds
another layer of strategy that most basic football strategy games don't
have. It also takes much more account of the defensive strategy
possibilities than other games (thus the game's title).
The game parts are in NEAR
MINT condition. The game includes a complete set of parts for this
edition of the game. It has never been played with. The boards are a
bit warped. Overall I would grade the game parts 9 on a 10 scale (see
condition guide below).
The box is in VERY
GOOD-EXCELLENT condition. There is a scrape mark at the left edge that
was probably caused by a box-cutter during removal of the shrinkwrap.
There is some caving to the box bottom. Otherwise just light shelf
wear. No stains or writing, no splits. I would grade it 6-7 on a 10
scale (see condition guide below).
(10): I will only give this grade
to brand new, unused items. NEAR MINT (9):
Shows virtually no use. Seldom if ever played.
Perhaps some very light handling creases to the
or other minor flaws with the game parts. Boxes will have
the slightest hint of shelf wear. EXCELLENT (7-8):
The game has seen some use but it was obviously well taken care of.
some light handling creases or other signs of
careful use. Board might have just a hint of color loss or
corners. Boxes will have light rubbing to the artwork or
some minor dishing or a very light stain. VERY GOOD (5-6):
The game was not especially well cared for but it still has
faired pretty well. Game
parts will show obvious use but nothing will be torn, badly
stained or have any serious damage. Box may have
rubbing, light staining, dishing, 1 or 2 neatly split corners,
minor writing and/or a few pieces of tape. No major
damage and artwork will still be generally attractive. GOOD (3-4):
Obviously no care was taken with the game but it is still playable as
is. Game parts show
considerable use but the game is complete with all parts in
condition. Box may have staining, writing, split
dishing and/or other structural damage but it will be intact and still
Only suitable to fill a space in your collection.
Game will be missing
parts (these will be noted). Box will have serious damage and
be missing aprons or badly torn.
