Swat Baseball Game
This classic action game
was re-packaged a number of
times from the 1920's - 1950's. It was originally simply called
"Baseball". The flips a marble onto the field with a cardboard bat. The
landing spot of the marble determines the result of the play. The final
edition was scaled down and game play revised. It included a spinner to
simulate balls and strikes, and the cardboard bat was replaced by a
rotating top which shot the pitched ball off into the field.
The game parts are in
condition. All the parts have been accounted for. It does not
appear that the game was played with at all. The field is spotless.
Unfortunately the field has caved in from having the weight of marbles
on it all these years, but I'm sure if you flipped it over and left
some weight on it for awhile it would flatten out. One of the cardboard
bats has a crease in the handle, but it is still stiff enough to flip
the marble. There is also a spare bat. I would grade the game 7-8 on a
scale (see condition guide below).
The game box is in
condition. There is some minor scuffing to the corners and edges in a
few spots and a couple very minor stains. There is one split corner. I
it 7-8 on a 10 scale (see condition guide below).
Price includes shipping
(10): I will only give this grade
to brand new, unused items. NEAR MINT (9):
Shows virtually no use. Seldom if ever played.
Perhaps some very light handling creases to the
or other minor flaws with the game parts. Boxes will have
the slightest hint of shelf wear. EXCELLENT (7-8):
The game has seen some use but it was obviously well taken care of.
some light handling creases or other signs of
careful use. Board might have just a hint of color loss or
corners. Boxes will have light rubbing to the artwork or
some minor dishing or a very light stain. VERY GOOD (5-6):
The game was not especially well cared for but it still has
faired pretty well. Game
parts will show obvious use but nothing will be torn, badly
stained or have any serious damage. Box may have
rubbing, light staining, dishing, 1 or 2 neatly split corners,
minor writing and/or a few pieces of tape. No major
damage and artwork will still be generally attractive. GOOD (3-4):
Obviously no care was taken with the game but it is still playable as
is. Game parts show
considerable use but the game is complete with all parts in
condition. Box may have staining, writing, split
dishing and/or other structural damage but it will be intact and still
Only suitable to fill a space in your collection.
Game will be missing
parts (these will be noted). Box will have serious damage and
be missing aprons or badly torn.
