Replay Baseball first
appeared in 1973 and has had a die-hard following ever since. Over the
years there were many features added, and in the late 1980's an updated
version of the game
was produced. While still basically compatible with the older version,
there are some differences that make it difficult to mix cards produced
for the 2 versions.
The original company ceased
production after the
1990 season but the company started up again in 1999 under new
ownership. The newer cards are perforated and must be punched out from
a booklet. The game play is slightly different due to the company doing
away with the large pitcher cards. Otherwise it is essentially the same
game and is more or less compatible with the late 1980's version of the
game.
