In the early 1970's Sports
Illustrated updated their earlier line of sports games giving them a
new look and in some cases changing the names. Along with the updates
they introduced a new game - DECATHLON. The game used the same basic
system to generate play results as the earlier PRO FOOTBALL, PRO
BASEBALL and HANDICAP GOLF Games. It allowed you to race some of the
greatest runners of all time in a variety of events. The game was
re-named TRACK MEET shortly thereafter and then switced back to
DECATHLON again later when Avalon Hill picked it up. Basic gameplay
remained
the same.
