Tudor was best known as the
makers of the Electric Football game and their mechanical NFL Football
Strategy board game. During the mid 1970's they must have decided to
branch out and fill a perceived gap in the statistical replay market -
hockey. At the time that this game came out (1976) neither
Strat-O-Matic nor APBA produced a stats-based hockey game. There were
some smaller companies that had games out there but none with large
distribution systems. Looking back it seems like a smart move.
Unfortunately it didn't work out for them.... While it is not in the
same class as Strat-O-Matic, the game certainly adequately filled the
gap at the time and it looks really sharp.
